MD NG Unit of the Year Award for 2021

Presentation of MOAA MD 2021 Award on Saturday, December 3rd at a special ceremony at the Joint Force Headquarters, 5th Regiment Armory, 29th Division Street, in Baltimore, at 1000 hours. I will retrieve the trophy from the 175th MSG (2020 winner) on the Wednesday prior and get it modified. Also, the vendor is completing the plaque and will have it for me next week. The schedule for the event is as follows:

(They will provide reserved parking places for us, but they do need to know who is coming from the Council for the ceremony.

Once inside, we must sign in at security desk and then proceed to the 3rd floor to TAGs suite - they will provide escorts.)

1015/1020 - move to 2nd floor Reckord Lounge to meet 58th Troop Command leadership

1020/1025 – introductions and prepare for presentation

1030 - presentation of award and photo op

1045- 1055 - wrap up

There is a formal ‘Pass and Review “ ceremony at 1400 hours. We, the MOAA attendees, are invited to stay for the formal ceremony.

MG Gowan(TAG), and BG Jori Robinson (Commander, 175th Wing), BG Birckhead (Deputy AG, Army), et. al., are expected to attend from the National Guard.

We are presenting our 2021 NG Unit of the Year award to the Maryland Army National Guard’s 58th Troop Command. The 58th Troop Command, among other notable accomplishments, provided the units and troops to secure the Capitol on January 6th and remained deployed to Washington to secure the Presidential Inauguration.
